Checking Gears?
Hey,
I just got a '97 Expedition, just wondering if there was a way of finding out what gear ratio its running. Im hoping a code is posted somewhere on the rig that I can run.
Just for grins, heres the specs:
4.6L
Auto
4X4
Loaded
running boards (stock)
17" Wheels
Any takers?

Checking Gears?
90% chance they're 3.55's.
Look for the vehicle certification label on the driver's door. This label will say "MFG. by Ford Motor Company" at the top, and will list front and rear GAWR, tire pressures and will show a bar code.
Below the bar code find a grouping of terms including AXLE. Directly below this word is the axle code:
17 = 3.31 non-limited slip
19 = 3.55 non-limited slip
H6 = 3.73 limited slip
H7 = 3.31 limited slip
H9 = 3.55 limited slip
