05 XLT AWD 4.0
No body damage, no rust. Only 118,500 on the clock. Nice truck.
Blower only works on hi so I bought a resistor for it today. Also picked up all the fluids and filters as well as plugs and wires. And it'll get new tires tomorrow.
So...... Any problem areas I should look for specifically? I've only put 100 miles on it, but it's getting better than 19mpg, so I'm pretty happy.
Oh. Both the back windows are inop. Before I get into troubleshooting it, is there anything known that will take them both out at the same time? Since none of the switches do anything at all it's either a power problem or both the motors/regulators died at the same time.
Looks like a pretty nice truck. I'm glad to hear you're getting new tires. I see what it came with are mis-matched, and that's generally a no-no with an AWD vehicle. As you're changing the fluid in the transfer case, pay attention to the condition of what comes out, looking/smelling for anything abnormal.
Wheel bearings are probably the most common issue, besides the transmission. If it's been maintained well though, the transmission may be perfectly fine.
As for the power windows, broken wires between the driver's door and the cabin are pretty common. There have also been a few folks that discovered broken wires just behind the driver's seat that caused issues with the rear doors only.
I'd suggest you break out the multimeter or test light and start confirming where you do and do not have power.
