I don't know how to post photos but I did a before and after. Went with the 2" HBS and I couldn't be happier. Took away the factory rake and sits perfectly level. Now you will all have to tell me what the best looking (not biggest) size tires work well.
Also NC boys, I'm a fellow North Carolinian and have a 78 f100 ranger to go along with it unk Bob. Thanks for your replies and if the picture doesn't work, someone tell me how.
Is your truck 4x2 or 4x4? The reason I ask is I found a trick that made life easier for me, but only because mine was 4x4. I just installed a set of 2" autospring spacers. The directions has you remove the forward Bolton the lower control arm so that the longer strut will fit into its home. After finding out that I was missing that precious 21mm socket I had to rethink my attack. Turns out the only thing holding the lower control arm in the way was my axle shafts. I pulled the axle nut and it let the lower control arm droop just enough to squeeze the strut into place.
With that said i'm sure your mechanic has all the required tools to do the job. I took before and after measurements like others have mentioned. my truck was sitting at 37" in the front and 39 1/4" in the rear in stock form. After the Leveling kit I was at 39 1/2" up front and 39 1/4 in the rear. Thankfully for me I wasn't going for the leveled look, just wanted to add a little height to the entire truck and added autospring's 3" rear blocks as well. that put the rear end up to 41" and gave me most of my rake back.
