Power Locks

When I bought my truck the only way to lock and unlock the vehicle was with a key. I ordered up two door lock actuators from Amazon to fix half of the problem. When I started on the passenger side I noticed that the light didn't come on with the passenger front door open. After removing all the stuff to get to the lock actuator I noticed that I had a wire connector dangling. Upon further investigation the plastic connection separated from the metal door latch mechanism. Thankfully the door kept the spare parts that fell inside the door (spring and a metal V clip). Going for broke on a Friday night I guessed how the connector should go together and by the grace of God it worked. Well to make sure the connect didn't fall apart in the next few days I managed to get a zip tie to hold it together.

Zip tied the broken electrical connector and now it works.

Very interesting. Hope the zip tie holds up, otherwise you'll have to replace the sensor.

Thanks Tom!!!

When I go back into the door I will replace both items 1) Door Jamb Relay and 2) Door Latch Assembly.

Question: How are you able to find the part number on Amazon? Obviously you have provided me one of them by posting the "Door Jamb Relay" but when I try to look up the latch assembly it's a no-go at this station....

I found that part on RockAuto. THe SW-number is a retail part number, so Amazon typically carries them. I looked it up and posted the link.

You can also go to parts.autonationfordwhitebearlake.com and pull parts diagrams and grab the part numbers from there.

Follow-up as I have a new switch (SW-5534) but I'm waiting on get a new door latch which is in transit before I install them both. I ordered up two more power locks and have one left to install on the back of the quad cab.
