I finally caught one.
Oil filter housing top blew off, fortunately it happened coming home within 20 yards of my house. At first I thought it was coolant just because of the sheer volume of liquid that was suddenly gushing out, then the smell hit my nose. That's why you can see the trail of me pulling in the driveway and the sudden "nope" and backing it up to the entrance.
Purple Power is no joke for sure. Used that to clean out the inside of the original degas bottle that I cut the top off of. I reached in after good soak and just rubbed surfaces down with my hand and my skin was peeling for 2 days after.

So I didn't get any pics of the carnage but here's a "fixed" shot. The culprit was the aluminum piece you see in the center. It's part of a remote oil cooler piece. The top is bolted down with 3 6mm bolts and it pulled the threads out of 2 of them. I'm probably guilty of too much torque on them.

Fortunately the holes aren't blind and that piece comes off so a steel thread insert repair job was really easy to do. I went ahead and did all 3.
Also the blue hoses you see are new from the hydraulic shop; made while you wait which is really cool
. The ones I had before just weren't very good so I'm glad they're gone but damn.If you're observant you might notice the fan stator is missing now. F that piece right in the A. I couldn't save it while getting the fan out to do the water pump earlier. Can't say I'm terribly upset it didn't survive though.
I gave her a simple green job and a rinse and she's baking in the sun now.

The CAC pipes are mishimoto. They are a gigantic PITA. I'd rather have the stock metal pieces however everything does kind of look good once it's all there and together.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts

Different story if you gotta depend on it day in and day out. You gotta be good and fast or you need to be able to shell out to someone who is.
Reminds me of that saying; what do you want? Fast. Cheap. Reliable. : Pick 2.
Haven't decided how I'm going to fill the space on the right yet. Some arrangement of switches and possibly another gauge. I have a pyro to install but I think I'm going to put that in a single A-pillar pod.

(someone mentioned the bulletproofing earlier.....)
Here's a couple of before shots. Measurements are from the center of the wheel.
Clearance to bump stop. Couldn't take a pic with the tape in there because the tape is all you'd see from the camera flash. Looks like 1.5 fingers = 1 1/8th inches.
Front driver's side
Rear driver's side
Front passenger's side
Rear passenger's side
Front springs are in. No measurements yet, wouldn't mean anything without the rears done.
Maybe more tomorrow!
