I have 07 f250 with 122k, just had all tierod ends, and also had a 1.5" leveling spring installed, and had a alignment done right after, my issue is the I have under steer to the left, which makes driving smoother cause of springs but, can't enjoy cause of the 1/8 turn of the steering wheel to the left before, it gets to the wheels, is there anything I should have done when I had the springs done ???
Yes I added a 1.5" leveling coil spring in front, and all new steering components, alignment and still have steering wheel slop, but no shaking coming from the wheels themselves, I can let go of the wheel at 70mph, and will drive straight..... I don't know
Thanks for the help, that's what I was leaning toward, was the steering box, hoping not but my luck
With the mileage and if it's the original box, along with everything else you say you've replaced on the truck I'd have to agree it's most likely the steering gear, You could try tweaking the adjustment and see if it corrects/helps the issue but if so it's a short term fix at best and the box will need to be replaced.
....I replaced my gear on my 07 gasser with a Redhead...I like it but they are rather pricey, there are other options but I have not tried any others, other people will help you with those answers if it comes to that.
