Trailer wiring help

I am wiring trailer lights on my 89 f-150 and when plug in my trailer and test my turn signal both turn signals go off and my trailer lights dimly flash. I think it might be a problem with the relay. It's not the trailer I tested them with another vehicle and they work fine.

sounds like a weak ground.

agreed. classic sign of a bad ground. the lights are back feeding through the parking lights for a ground.
