2011 Escape V6, Hard shift when cold
2011 Escape V6, Hard shift when cold
My ESCAPE when driven cold shifts 3 times, (1st into 2nd, 2nd into 3rd, 3rd into high gear) and then gives a bit of a flare-up and clunk. Then it is fine for the rest of the day, shifting perfectly normally. Then same thing again when cold tomorrow. Has anyone experienced this and should I be worried?
If we do a full warm up (pain in the a$$ waiting), it seems fine.
Fluid level is right up & fairly clean.

I am seeing some articles about major problems with 2011 transmissions. Is anyone experiencing these and what was the result? 2011 Ford Escape Transmission Failure: 9 Complaints
nobody has commented for months, so is everyone having no problems with their 2011 Escape transmission except me??? It has a very hard first shift, then shifts fine for the rest of the day. Replaced the fluid twice. Other ideas???
We had a 2012 3.0 AWD, bought new. From new, the first 2-3 shift of the day would flare some. Not bad, but enough to let you know something wasn't quite right. It would be fine the rest of the day. We sold it with about 45K on it. Never failed us, but...
I know this is an old thread but I am having the same issue. 2011 Ford Escape V6 XLT 3L. The shift is just too rough/cold-RPM's go as high as 3000-4000, clunk. After 3rd gear it is fine. I thought it was just in winters, but during summers too.
Did you find a solution to this ? It's not fun to drive honestly. The pickup is just so loud, seems like 20 year old engine sometimes. I am wondering if this is due to bad PCV valve or MAF Sensor. Any advise is appreciated.
Thanks !
