Angry Temp gauge goes to HOT then jump to cold

About 3 times a week in the afternoon when I get of work or in the morning I start my 95 2WD Ford Explorer and the Temperature gauge goes to HOT. I have changed fan clutch, water pump and Termostat. It will remain on HOT for about 10 minutes then suddenly drop to cold. PLEASE HELP

Sounds like the temperature sending unit to me. Especially if the engine has been sitting for a few hours and should be cold when it indicates "Hot". Have the sending unit checked out and replace it if its faulty.
