1964 Upgrades
I haven't creeped on this site for awhile since a lot of the members here post amazing pictures of their trucks getting fixed up and it made me sad. I finally got better full time job and I'm eager to start fixing up my '64.
So, I originally bought a long bed '64 F100 and it has a 292 and a 3 speed on the column. A year or two ago, my father and I sliced th frame to make it a shorty. After regretting the decision, I managed to find another '64 that is a short bed. For only 400 American dollars, I couldn't pass on it. I took off the carburetor, then I'll take the frame, windshield, rear axel, transmission since its on the floor.
So my dilemma. When it comes to vehicles, I'm completely lost. I love older cars but have no idea how to fix them. I want to have power brakes and power steering before taking her on the road.
I purchased these from speedway motors.

My father and I have installed them. After wanting to put power brakes, I been looking at boosters and master cynlinders. Then I heard about vacuum might be needed. Crap. I don't know if my carb has vacuum. Heck I don't know if it's an original carb. Picture is included.
Speedway motors has master cynlinders and booster kits but I'm not sure if I'll need anything else. Which one of these will be suitable for my truck?

I appreciate any information or advice. Thank you.
That does not appear to be the original carb to the truck... should look like this.
My 64 has power brakes. Yes it is operated by vacuum. Vacuum comes from the intake manifold, not the carb. On the back of the intake on a 292 there should be a port (where my booster connects to) as well as right in front of the carb (where you have that rubber hose that goes back and into the valley pan under the intake.
You will need to find a new brake master cylinder. The master cylinder is availble, but the boosters are not. You'll have to wait for one to come up for sale or maybe someone on here has one.

Port is seen on left side of picture (rear of intake)
Hope that helps...

So I see you linked a brake master cylinder. But you mention I'd have to wait for a booster. Any idea what cylinder and booster they're coming off of? Like what vehicle? Thank you for your input.
