Best off the shelf-box store bed liner/undercoating for fuel tanks

I'm replacing the fuel tanks on my 95 F150 and I going to paint them up with some type of coating. Was considering bed liner or undercoating, but don't want to spring for the expensive commercial grade stuff like Rhino, LineX. Can anyone reccomend so good cheap stuff that I can use? Prefer to avoid undercoating because I want it to dry hard (not soft) with good adhesion.

Regards, Chet

Painting Over Rust isn't permanent.no matter how good the paint is made to adhere to rust, rust will never be well adhered to solid metal again.rust must be removed for paint and primer.there's no shortcuts that are long lasting.paying for a paint designed to adhere to rust is a waste of your $ that will be better spent towards sand blaster rental.

for a new metal tank, simply prime and paint it with good quality paint.it should last for several years.they make poly tanks too that wont ever rust out.ask yourself; did you just replace the oem tank that came with the truck in '95? if so,it lasted over 20 years.who knows about todays grade metal of course but the odds are high of it lasting for at least 15 more right? will you really be driving a 35 year old truck still in 2031? if so,then go ahead and spend big bucks on the tank if your concerned that tanks may no longer be in production in 2031.if not, just install the tank and sleep easy.
