Exhaust smells diffrent than normal.

What i mean by that is I normally use powerservice in the white bottle and just changed over to the grey bottle. My truck has 173k bone stock and runs great, i dont drive much so today i took it out for a day of joyriding with the wife, drove about 200 miles total, 95% interstate at 70mph, mainly to make sure it was good and cleaned out, when I got back I filled up and added my diesel kleen, and then hit the interstate home, at which point it went into regen mode. I drove till it was finished and then headed home, got in the driveway and let it idle for a few min and when we opened the doors to get out my wife even noticed the exhaust smelled diffrent, It smelled to me like a truck that has DEF fluid, which mine doesn't. Is that something to watch, or is that just a product of getting run and cleaned out and the fact of changing fuel treatments? Keep in mind the truck still runs perfect. just exhaust smells like a def truck.

I feel like you're fine. Probably just the change in cleaner and the stench of a recent regen.

Thanks that is along the same lines i was thinking, but my wife calls me a worry wart since this is my first diesel and love the heck out of it. I think i am one of the lucky ones who got a good used 6.4. i did get the privlage of getting up with the previous owner and found out he took religous care of it. I do know that the cats can have a funny smell when they get really hot. so i figured that was prob the main cause as well as the new treatment.

thanks again

Nothing wrong with worrying brotha lol. Better to be worried than not give a crap. I'm not sure about cats smelling funny cause I deleted mine right after I bought it lol.
