Is a Timken D100 rear axle the same across the board regardless of the year or make of vehicle it was put on? I ask because I'm finding many D100 parts online for Dodge but not for my year Ford truck.
#4676 drive seal assembly. I bought a NOS seal on ebay but it's leather. And while the part is easily accessible and not difficult to change I'd prefer to go with a modern rubber seal so I don' have to do it again should the leather tear.
Calvin, I have C/R and National seal interchange catalogs in the shop. Post the Ford part # for the seal or the # that is on the seal and I'll see if I can get you a good number. If the leather in the seal you have is good, soak it in gear oil for a few days or a week and use it, it will be fine, but I should be able to cross the # over if you want to replace it.

Mark - Thanks for the thoughts. I will more than likely run the leather seal (after a good long oil bath) but would certainly like to know the modern part number. The Timken D100 seal part number is TCAA 4676-A.
Calvin, Here are the seal numbers. C/R 21213 National 410308
They are both bold type numbers in their catalogs indicating that they are popular numbers. I think at one time Napa used the same numbers as National, but any parts store should be able to cross these numbers to their numbers and get these for you.

Nice! I did a Google search for the National part and found it at O'Reilly's. A prime example of the kindness and knowledge of the fine folks on this forum. Thank you! (PS-I'm keeping your contact info handy!)
