84 f150 ignition coil E type

I want to hook up a tachometer up to my 84. I am currently having trouble finding the negative wire to the ignition coil and have no diagram. It's one of those stupid square E type coils and I am having trouble finding a diagram for it. The colors of the wires would be nice but a diagram would be better. Thanks.

I think so a square plug on the ignition coil.

This is a Duraspark Ignition.

Depending on engine, 1984 could have a Duraspark II ignition or the EEC-IV ignition; given he's talking about a square coil, that strongly implies the 300 cid I-6 with the EEC-IV ignition but of course he doesn't tell us this stuff so we really don't know for sure what he needs.

Square e-core type coil should be TFI-IV. It's been a long time since I saw one so I can't remember wire colours, if it is the same as later EFI stuff you want tge tan/yellow tracer wire at the coil connector.
Either way one will be key switched constant power, and the second one which you want is a pulsed negative.
