Heater **** and switch

I need to replace the fan switch on my heater for my 1966 Ford F100 n/ac.
Can someone tell me what is the best way to get the **** off.
Does it come off separate or do you need to take the whole cable assembly out
and replace it all. The **** is in great shape as is the cable but can't seem to find just the switch without buying the whole thing.

Thanks,
Bobby

Both the wiper and the heater switch use the same **** which is retained by a #8 -32 headless set screw.

The switch is only furnished with the cable.

C5UZ-18578-A .. Heater Switch - Use with Fresh Air Heater / Obsolete

1965/66 F100/1100 / 1965/67 Econoline.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
