Edge CTS II w/ EGT probe

That way you have expandability for so many other sensors in the future! I absolutely love mine

I picked option 2. That way it's hard mounted, you don't forget it, and it doesn't go sliding off the console.

Get a Dashboss. Keep track of what your engine is doing and save a buck or two Before stuff happens. You already have headlights, why go there?

I like how clean the EGT is by Auber, and I really wanted to vote 2+3 (like amdriven2liv) and say buy the XDP coolant filter kit (also said it in another thread) and it'll bring it in the $5 C note range.

the droid radio is pretty cool, plus being able to add stuff on to it like a back up camera (down the road of course)...

If you're still using the stock radio, you gotta get a radio. They are a huge upgrade. And as long as you're not modifying your fuel delivery, egt's are rarely an issue. I would get an exhaust and not worry about it.

I got my radio for 160 bucks. Touch screen, bluetooth, hands free phone, dvd, backup cam, pandora, amazon music, etc. And I think a mbrp exhaust is 230 or so, last time I looked online. Still under 400 for both.

Thanks for all the suggestions and votes. Lets see more!

It seems the majority suggest a combination of the radio and egt.

Coolant filter order for 112 from XDP.

Looks like the EGT gauge ad radio are next.

Curious, but why are you putting in an EGT gauge? What is the heaviest you run down the road at, or are you maybe considering some power upgrades?

After I sold the dump trailer I don't think I'll see over max CGVWR again, and even if we load the camper and all gear and two horses we're maxed on the rear axle well before we hit over 20K lbs, more likely in the 19K range. So watching EGTs is just not on my radar, and I was just wondering why it was on yours is all...

Not that data is ever a bad thing mind you...

The heaviest I have ever run is loaded with the family, bikes and some firewood in the bed and my 7500lb trailer in tow. I am not sure what the exact weight is.

I wanted to watch the egt while twing uphill in the mountains to make sure I was not overdriving things during the uphill climbs with the trailer in tow and maintaining speed.

65mph is my max while towing due the the C rated trailer tires.

I have put on about 600k miles over the last 10 years at work pulling a loaded down triple axle flatbed with a 1 ton dually and have only seen high egt's once ever. And the truck was already crippled with a failed headgasket just trying to get home 500 miles away.

For 100 bucks it would bring piece of mind when towing.

EGT kit ordered.

Now I need to get my back surgery done next week so I can install all this crap!

I am sitting home in pain with nothing to do except internet shopping and the wife is going to kill me. If not for spending money on my truck when I can't even install it right now then for being a major pia as she is like a personal butler right now. LOL
