So, this new to me Excursion came with a cool winch bumper complete with winch and integrated fog lights. Now, if you were a fog light switch, where would you be hiding?
Well, first off this is a 2001 Excursion and it did not come with the factory fog lights which means no pull out headlight switch.
Next, there are no aftermarket switches anywhere on the dash
Finally, I see wires leaving the lights but where they go I have not been able to trace them.
So, if you wanted to install aftermarket fog lights and hide the switch, where would you put it?
Nope, already checked the high beam, low beam, and running lights theory with no go. There isn't s floor switch either but I do like that idea (had an '80 Bronco and felt Ford was years ahead with that idea - shame it fell by the wayside).
I am beginning to agree with Immortal_Ben that they were never
connected. So this leads me to ask, could I install a headlight switch with fog option and connect those lights to it?
My only other theory is that the owner before me had two Excursions. The first they wired in the lights. They realized they needed a switch and ran to the parts store. When they got back they forgot what truck they were working on and installed the red switch in their other Ex. Then they sold both. I bought the one with the lights and Country_Mouse bought the one with the red switch. I know, long shot right?

Yes, you can use the switch w/fog. The connector on the back of both switches are physically the same. You will either need to install pins and wiring (Pin 2 and Pin 5) on your 2000 connector to switch on the relay or use an existing harness/connector from an EX/F250 w/fog option.
Pin 2 on the harness side of the connector is the 12V Fog Input. Tap into Pin 12 (brown wire) to power Pin 2. Pin 5 is the 12V Fog Output, which will connect to your relay.
When I was younger I would wire my fogs with the park lights. I'm sure this may not be the case here. It was less work and did not need a switch and did not need to run the wires inside the vehicle. I was very inexperienced then...
Did you pull out on the headlight ****? That's how my Excursion fog lights turn on.

"Quick Readers" ? What makes you think I read anything

Well, THERE's your problem! LOL
Update that 2001 to Windows 10. I hear it "solves everything"
Thanks. The bumper was one of the first things that caught my attention when I went to look at the truck.
Thought I would throw in one last pic.
I guess I will plan on wiring the fog lights in since I can't find a switch for the anywhere. I might try the factory fog light switch since the current (non fog) switch is really worn and the **** is pretty loose.
