Gotta be a new record...

Saw this on Facebook the other day. Ford dealer posted it up. Said the guy traded it in on a new truck. Original engine and transmission according to the post. Said the gentleman was getting an oil change every 2 weeks!!! Early build 2011 I believe.

Wow, that's 500 miles every day for 5 years. 7 days a week. That's nuts. He averaged 3400 miles a week, I only average 1200 a week and I feel like I live in that truck....there is no way my wife and kids would allow me to be on the road that much.

Must have been a team driving situation for some kind of delivery business.

I would have taken it to 1 million if I could. He'd be famous!

Ford should buy that truck from the dealer and finish putting it up to the million mile mark - then do a full tear-down and analysis...

there is a million mile Tundra out there that Toyo bought so they could do a tear down of it.

I think the same should be done here.

Plus we need to know what kind of repairs were made to get it to 806K.

How many DPF, was it tuned etc..

All they disclosed was that it was an all stock truck on the original engine and transmission.

Oh no,couldn't be. Must have had a factory installed Cummins to get that mileage.. That is insane. Spent more time at operating temp than not. I heard thru the vine that while miles/hours wear the engine, the heat cycles of us everyday type drivers contribute as much if not more. I seen one the fellas over in 6litre forum that had a 800k± 6.0.

Using these numbers, they were 1 year and 5 weeks from going over 1M. I can't remember the last vehicle that I drove past 100,000 miles but if I made to 800,000+, I would certainly want to see 1M. I didn't make it to 50,000 on the last few but 1M would be sweet.

My theory on having warranty coverage (ESP or MBI) would be a challenge with this many miles too.

bruce...

Made it up to ~360,000 on my 7.3 and was determined to see at least 500k or more. Then I test drove a 6.7 and that was the end of the dream, lol.

This was posted in another thread. 806K. Waiting to see what the person got at trade-in at Midway Ford. (They didn't put the city and there are a few "midway fords" out there.
