2017 F450DRW 4X4 (Shadow Black/Camel) Order In (5-22-2017)
Well, put me down as making it happen. Order in today.
I just wanted to thank all of you, and some more than others, for all the great debate, guideance and leadership on helping me select my rig. I feel really good about the line items.
This is a great forum, and so happy to be involved. Have a great rest of your Sunday!

The delivery time is probably off...I see yours is a priority 10 like mine, which means we will have to wait for dealer stock...plus the Donlen site did specify some delays for the 450 trucks. I'm not expecting mine really any earlier than late August...but mid-late September is probably more likely.
But I'm really happy for you, great truck.

Thanks guys, yeah, it'll be a beast. I'm going to put leather in it, a bull bar with rigid lighting, and hopefully some air to adjust the angles.
On priority Troverman, Raleigh (my ford guy) says that's the highest priority he has, he has not even put in any dealer orders yet, mine will be the first.
Once I know more, I'll post it so eveyone can see the whole process.
Super excited!

Has anyone swapped out the cloth for leather on an XLT? If so, what brand has everyone had the best success with?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am told that my truck is built and railed to Chicago. I am further told that Ford will hold the SDs in Chicago and release them when they want. Not sure how all of that works, but I think it's close. So excited.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe Ford loads the carrier's yards waiting for ship dates. Other posts have indicated some of the yards at LAP are full. Ford will then rail ship out vehicles and use the rail and truck yards for storage. I have seen pictures of the yards in the past where they look like a sea of vehicles waiting for truck (convoy) transportation. Once the signal turns green they will start moving to the dealers.

I have no experience with swaps. My last truck and this one are both Lariat so the factory leather will have to do. I would like the Brunello of the Platinum but I do not want many of the extras of the Platinum.
Most dealers have upholstery shops they deal with but I would think you could find one on your own at a better price if that is the path you choose. One strong advantage to aftermarket is a better color choice. I have lived with the light tan/camel/whatever the light stuff is called this year and it is fine but I went to the black for something different. Not because I am in love with it but I am tired of the very light. I hope you find the right choice for your trim options and wants.

My Ford Rep that orders all the trucks said the builds are more determined by the type and options then order date. Ford has determined internally what they are going to build first. The F450 Crew DRW was what they wanted to roll out first, so he said that's why mine got built first. I'm not sure if he knows 100% but it makes sense, given I ordered late and am getting mine early......

AzureTruck, did you order the cameras? They are having supplier issue with the cameras.
Also, is yours a Crew Cab?
What about options, anything unique?

I am probably going to go with a dealer trade at this point.
