1988 f150 Throttle Body

New Member question folks. I own a 1988 f150 302. I'm looking to either replace the throttle body with OEM or go after market. Whats the feeling out there.

Replacing because it's worn or broken? If so just go find another OEM unit because there is nothing upstream of the camshaft that is even remotely close to a bottleneck on that motor.

the camshaft is the biggest bottleneck and the next one is your exhaust (including the manifolds).

Replacing because of poor performance at initial throttle. I will be replacing the TPS at the same time. I was told a larger opening (in mm) would help performance. I will be slowly going from part to part through out the truck to improve my ride.

Have you pulled codes?

The OEM TB will support 350hp, your motor makes 185hp or less factoring in age and wear.
