Hello guys,I bought a 96'f350 5spd,dually.. All stock, low miles..truck runs great! But I could use a little more power at 2nd,and 3rd gear..I viewed a banks fast spool (tp38?) To replace the stock Garrett turbo...and want to get optimum performance, while allowing my 7.3 to perform well for another 300k mi. ...I've read about the choice of mods and it appears too involved for my budget... Want to keep it simple, would the S&B cold air intake, and the cat delete pipe in addition do the trick? Thx for the info...

In the stickies is a book load of good information that will answer all of your questions regarding maintenance, performance, and dependability. Be ready to do like we have all done and spend three or four hours reading to your hearts content so you have decent knowledge and know which way you want to go.

I spent a week looking into what I have. took me a while to figure things out and learned a lot so far.

do you know what mods if any have been done?

have you looked at fuel pressure and knowing things are working well?

I got lucky with my purchase since it had some mods done already.

now I am looking into some issues I didn't know about

your truck has been around for 20 years and a ton of info is out there

prep your wallet as some things can get expensive

Wants more power -- doesn't want to spend money?!?!

Lol

If only it worked like that.

No ,the banks stuff generally sucks. Overpriced and under delivering...
Leave that turbo alone, these trucks need FUEL!!!

In other words, what Aaron is saying get bigger injectors. Your seat of the pants will love it. Also, you'll need gauges to keep on eye on things especially EGT's. Read signatures, a lot of knowledge there and info there. I also would stay away from Banks.

First and foremost invest in gauges, at a minimum EGT.
Then do turbo back exhaust to get rid of the anemic down pipe, then do intake, if you want cheap look no further than the 6637 mod, then a good tuner with custom tunes.
Then from there you can look at our signatures but this is where it starts getting $$$$!
Good luck.
