I opened the op of the carb while tinkering and, lo and behold, the fuel bowls had a bunch of crap in them. I gave them a good cleaning. I talked to my neighbor who is mechanic and he would swap the front and rear jets on this carb with a 360. So I did. He then helped me set timing and re adjust the carb screws. Works much better now, but still not quite perfect.
I'm not sure if the jet swapping helped but I'm sure it helped to clean out the jets. The accelerator pump looked springy and the seal wasn't hard so I haven't ordered a replacement yet. But with all that dirt I found I'm tempted to pull it and give it a full cleaning. But for now I'm just excited to be driving again.
Ah I see. I'm still a bit of a noob. There is a big S, then C7AE-9425-E. From my googling, it must be a '67. Thanks for the info. I'm learning a ton about these trucks on this forum
I did replace the fuel filter, it's between pump and carb. Since there's a bunch of sediment in the carb, maybe I'll pull the pump and see if its gunked up as well.
