Thanks for the reply. I went with black wheels on my EX and want to add the body side molding in black to help tie everything together.

Best I can tell, and anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. This started in the '02 model year on Limiteds (mine has it) and was only available from there on out with the monotone Limited models.

After you mentioned it I'm going to plastidip the chrome trim next week and get rid of the 5" chrome exhaust tip with a black one.

Why did you repaint the X? Had to or wanted to?

Definitely Had To. My OCD required it. The Ex was damaged several years ago in a hail storm and the roof and hood had to be replaced. The seam seal and paint were never quite right and kept peeling up. The paint on the rest of the car kept peeling up over the years and the original body shop that did the work kept "fixing" it until I had enough (after 7 repairs of their repair). I fought the insurance company and they finally agreed to repaint the entire Ex, all but the barn doors.

No cost to me. It was over $10K that the insurance had to pay the body shop. The only body work was repairing the seam seal where the roof joins the rest of the body.

Didn't cost me a thing but it costs the insurance company $10K. The body shop had to remove all the old paint the original body shop had applied.
