1997 F250 Brake controller
Has anyone tried installing an integrated trailer brake control unit from newer truck into older truck. Would like to put a brake control unit in my truck but don't want bulky unit hanging under dash.
Does anyone have pics of in dash mounted system??

How will the intrigrated brake controller talk to the PCM? It also ties in to the hydraulic system of the pickup. The intrigrated controller is much more than a box that mounts in the dash.
I presume you are talking old body style pickup (OBS)? Additionally, how is an aftermarket controller bulky? They are not that big. There is a plug under the dash to plug the aftermarket controller in to. It is a fairly reliable setup.

If you want to mount something in the dash, just cut into the dash and mount a quality aftermarket unit.
Tekonsha Prodigy P3 is highly regarded.
I'll go out on a limb here and say using the Ford Factory unit on the wrong generation of truck is 100% impossible.
