I bought a 1985 Mercury with a 302 with 58,000 miles. I want to take the engine and put in my '66 Bronco. My question is it has first year fuel injection, Will I need different heads or just a regular manifold or should I try to use the F.I.? Thanks.
The 66 bronco would not have AOD and unless he used adapters he could not use the car trany.
Also know early broncos have a 6cly & v8 frames. So if you have a six in the bronco the v8 will not bolt in.
The frame mounts are part of the frame, welled on.
Can you install a v8 in place of a 6? Yes as I have done it 30+ years ago. Not hard from what I remember.

It was an engine question. I have a '84 F-150. but figured someone could answer the question. I have a set of V-8 mounts for an early Bronco and would use my stock 3-speed.
That is fine but the rubber mounts will not hit the frame if the truck is a 6cly.
Just like 80 to 86 trucks have different frame mounts that bolt in the first Gen broncos do not bolt in it is part of the frame.
The 3 speed may be ok for driving but heavy off roading I would think twice.
I went with a C4 as the truck was built for off road racing.
If the truck has a v8 then frame mounts & trany is not a issue.
Sorry I can't help on the motor side other than make sure you get the right flywheel.
