NEED HELP 6.4 GUYS
hey guys i have a 08 f550 i swapped a motor in, the donor motor was a good runner but has been sitting for a bit.
got it all situated and bled the fuel cooler, tried to start and no fuel pressure
I have been cranking it for a while and will let it sit. the highest i can get is around 1300psi.
I let it sit overnight, instantly it will start off at 900psi and work up to 1300psi. After that first start if i try again she will start off at 0psi and slowly work up to 1300psi
I have bled the fuel cooler and there is no air, i have even disabled the glow plugs and shot some starting fluid in and the pressure will not raise.
A ford tech advised me to crack loose the feed line at either head and crank to let the air escape. if i crack those lines loose i get nothing, no fuel when i re tighten it will take a while but i get pressure again. *i understand these are a one time use line*
the old motor had a knock, it ran so i know the fuel system is good.
The only thing that is different about the swap is that i deleted the egr and dpf, i left all the exhaust sensors plugged in so it will start and i can get my custom tune, i have done it this way before with no problems
So i guess my question is, anybody have some advice on getting the pressure up? i really do not want to buy the bleeder from ford.
has anybody seen something like this before. the last truck i swapped a motor in i bled the **** of the fuel system and it finally started, this one will not.
I am getting the P0229 low pressure code, not the other one for the pump electronics.
Thanks,
Steve
