I'm trying to get some information regarding my rear differential on my 53' MERC M100. The tag on the 10 bolt cover states;
S040F
08 8.8
I looked on Ford Identification sites and can't find S040F. I know the other numbers mean 3.08 gears and 8.8" rear end, but what does the S040F mean. it would be nice to know what type of axles (# spline) has without taking it apart.
