Bedsides & Bed floor upgrades
Bed has nasty holes @ goose neck trlr mount. Under plate, bed floor's rotted. It filled w/ leaves & sat for years. I have 79 SWB Bed w/ nasty sideswipe, but otherwise pristine. 79 has fuel filler pocket/door I want. 79 bed's media blasted, epoxy prime/sealed & coated w/epoxy, chassis enamel, inside.
I'm capable of peeling bedsides & swaping 66 on 79. I thought about not swapping sides. Wheel openings incorrect & windsplits a "tad" off too. I don't really care much about rear wheel opening aesthetics. Not sure I can live with different windsplit curvatures though.
Plan to chop cab roof @ 1st of 04 [mol] & may do bed sides then.FWIW Ive a 79 F, tilt, column. I want 79 wiring for 4ways & T/sig interupted brake lites & so markers alternate flashes w/ signals. I have amber, frnt, side marker lamps from 70 Road Runner now. Comments & help appeciated.
Love those 14" dual piston front disc brakes & FAT sway bars!
73- 79 bedsides windsplit is concave @ belt line, & the bottom of panel flips out slightly. 61 - 66 bedside beltline, above "seam" is convex & bottom of panel curves/ rolls in, not out.
Aside from that, I prefer double wall design & larger Wheel Hsgs of later bed style beds. Also want fuel filler neck pocket & door as I'm using OEM, 79, Fuel tank location. Also as mentioned I think modular T/S-lamps & side markers will help with lighting.
Looking @ adding 66 "top" [seam up] & "roll" along bottom to 79 bed. I prefer 79 rear Wheel Openings to 61-66 also. That way bedsides will match cab & have features I would like too. Right now I'm head scratching & fishing 4 input.
THANX for your reply William. FBp
