Is this DPF system worth anything? Or am I better of scrapping it out? It came off my 2011 f250 I bought a couple weeks ago and I don't really want it sitting around. I have enough treasures to look at in my garage.
Up to you but I would save it inside the garage just in case you get caught by the feds w/o it or you decide to sell it and the new buyer wants it.......FYI
Around here I see guys selling for $500+ on CL. I sold mine off of my Ram 6.7 for $500. I think if someone was patient they could get more. If a guy needs one real bad they could be worth a lot to that person.
Why did you remove it and how did you deal with the wiring that goes back to the computers?
Is it real loud now? I suspect that mine a 2010 is causing me problems and leading to poor milage not sure. I just don't want it to get louder
Keep it, I made the mistake of selling mine from a 2011 Ram. When I went to sell it I had to buy a replacement in order sell.
I also believe if you sell it, even with paperwork saying as is, the new owners CAN force you to replace all the missing emission devices. It is Federal law that you can not run your truck without it, and you can't legal sell it as a on hwy vehicle without it.
They way some kids are smoking out people with there trucks the FEDERAL government might soon make all diesels have, at least, a visual inspection.
Keep it. I know your not thinking about selling your truck now, but when you do you may need it. I just traded in my '09 Ram towards a 2016 Lariat, the Ford dealer had my Ram inspected, & if the DPF system was not intact they would not have taken it. Keep in mind that to tamper with the emissions system is Federal.

I removed all the emission stuff off my semi and I have a few hundred pounds worth of parts laying on a pallet in my shed just in case I decide to sell the truck down the road or if a state I run in starts doing inspections.
Just plug the ends up to keep the critters and dirt out and store it in a dry place.

Thanks for the replies. I will keep it just in case something comes up that i need it. After thinking about it if i sold it and got in a spot were i needed to have one i would probably end up spending more money finding a replacement than what i sold mine for.
