03 Navigator Power liftgate and boards no showing up in meesage center and dont work

I have a 03 Navigator and all of a sudden the powerliftgate stopped working as well as the power running boards. Also they are no longer in the control center where you can turn them on or off. They are not even showing up?

Any ideas? I already checked the fuses.
thanks

All 3 of them? #5, #105, #110

If all 3 fuses are good then the problem is a blown power liftgate module. Both the liftgate and the running boards are controlled by it.

Yes I checked all 3 fuses. Ok, that's what I figured since it is not showing up in the control center.

thanks

If I purchase used working module do I still have to program it from the old module? Or can I just swap them out.

If I have to use a scan tool is it only a factory ford one that will work or is there any after market ones that can do it?

thanks

Just swap them out...assuming the part numbers match.

Parts #'s for module

My Module has a part # 4L74-14B291-AA

Every one of the used ones I have found ( I have found 5) all have the same parts # which is 2L74-14B291-AT

Do all the part numbers need to be the same or will these interchange?

thanks

The 2L7 indicates the part was originally designed for a 2002 Navigator.
The "AT" on the end indicates it has had a number of revisions.

The 4L7 that was/is on your 2003 Navigator indicates it was originally for a 2004 Navigator. The "AA" on the end indicates it is has not had any revisions.

Since the 4L7 was working on your 2003, I'm guessing you could use either part.
NOTE! That's only a guess.

You might try something like Ford Parts dot com and input your VIN and see if they divulge the Ford Part #.
