I have a 2000 v10 excursion and once in a while when I shift from park to drive it will stall and lunge forward. It will stay running if I go to neutral but as soon as it goes into drive it will stall and also reverse seems to work sooner than drive will come back I have been stalled and had to put it in reverse and pull to the shoulder. Any ideas I have done research but would like to see if anyone has any experience with this situation thanks
Low trans fluid, damaged/missing internal filter, leaking internal seals, sticky torque converter clutch control valve, leaking internal seals, worn out pump, or a bad torque converter.

So it could be a number of things I also heard tcc solenoid could cause the problem or torque converter so I guess I just have to start and eliminate things thank you for your input
I suppose I should ask if the OD light blinks when the symptoms arise....?
No it doesn't blink it's weird just kinda lunges forward a bit and dies but then will start right back up I can let it sit for ten minutes or so then it will go
Yea I had driven it for like two miles from my house to work when I checked it and was in park
Two miles isn't going to warm up the 18-ish quarts inside the 4R100 unless you're beating the absolute crap out of it. While I'm sure the level is fine, you may want to check it again after actually warming up the transmission.
How's the fluid condition? Could help point things in the right direction.
On a side note, my Chevelle had a 700R4 when I first acquired it. A few weeks it, it would stall and lunge sometimes coming to a stop - it ended up the TC lock-up solenoid starting to go out. It would only do it when coming to a stop after going fast enough to engage lock-up however.

Ok I'll try checking it after a long drive thanks for the info
I have simular problem. Drives normal, but at idle like at a stop sign it stalls. Kinda intermittently, but worse when the AC is on and /or lights. The OD light flashes when it happens and then goes away when restart. Abs light does a little on off dance sometimes too. Seems electrical.
I changed all spark plugs, changed that output shaft sensor from the code reader, checked the cop's and replaced one. Maybe I missed a bad COP in the checking of them, but I really think it is something else.
