So after owning my 2016 f250 xlt 6.2 for almost 2weeks now, I head down to Atl this morning (about 225 miles one way) I stop in N Ga to gas it up computer still saying 12 mpg on the message screen, ( I leave it on the fuel economy screen)
I have filled this truck up 3-4 times so far running the pump till it clicks off, screen doesn't change still says 12 mpg's. So on my way home, I hit a gas station to top off and decided to squeez a little more of that cheap gas in after pump clicks off, didn't get much more in after that so I jump in and take off.
When I looked at the screen my mpg's where 0.0... What... Start driving mpg's start going up, coast to stop light, mpg's hit 36.7... After that they just went up and down as I pushed the gas peddle, poor computer didn't know what to do.
Moral of this story... Don't top off your gas tank, the computer doesn't understand wanting to get as much cheap gas as you can hold.
Check to see that you didn't accidentally switch form avg fuel economy to instant. I believe you can display either, in my 2012 I can. However for instant in my truck it just shows a bar graph.
