Well when they say "Minor manual transmission launch performance enhancement" They really mean minor!!!!! I think how it is accomplished is they bump the idle up! I took it in and it idled at 700 rpm now it idles at 750 rpm! Sure it will launch better at a higher rpm!!!! Unofficially my service manager said he was told by the engineer that worked on my truck that they detuned both the auto and the launch of the 6 spd to keep then from tearing up transmissions and clutches. Also said i would have to start feathering the clutch to start out and it would have more power!!!!!! I feel that is bull!! This is my 5th stick shift diesel and by far the worst at getting a load rolling!
If you have a 6 spd and it is hardly drivable like mine you might as well get the RC5 because it does help a little bit. I'll try it tomarrow with a load.

Picked up the truck yesterday after Ford installed a
new PCM. WOW this truck has the POWER, the low end power problem is gone first gear the turbo spools up, shifting into second no drop in rpm turbo still making the power, third gear approching warp one and the speed is still climbing, fouth gear backed off the juice and checked to see if any redlights were attempting to catch me.
This is one bad a**ed truck now.
