T18 transmission problems.

I have an 1981 Ford F250 with a t18 transmission. The transmission suddenly disengaged while driving on the highway. I assumed one of the syncro rings was bad. I rebuilt the transmission and on the finish test drive it worked as normal. I went to return the transmission jack and the same issue still exsists. Could it be something other then the transmission

Maybe the detents on the shifter / linkage are incorrectly set. Short of that I'd say the synchro dogs on the gears are shot, or the snap ring holding the gears on the mainshaft has broken. Been there..
