The passenger side is a tight 90* at IC then 90* then a 60* at the spider. Plently of clearance for dipstick and oil fill with a funnel. I'll get the pipes to my friend to tig up so I'll only have silicone 4 joints.

I wanna do the super duty plastic cover over the fuel filter since the stock isn't going to work anymore.

He is using silicone intakes boots! Just bought the eBay kit for the bends.

Their quality is just fine.

Just a tip on the IC boots. Spray the inside of the boot with the cheapest stickiest hairspray you can find. It helps hold the boots from slipping

I ended up ordering Riffraff hump hoses since they are longer and would give me the option to double clamp in the future and match my other stuff. My header wrap will be in tomorrow so I'll try my hand at that. I did a Tru-cool 4921-1 trans cooler. I gotta research on the cold weather bypass some more before Colorado winter and decide what to do there. I guess this cooler works so well that it can make the fluid too cold to work correctly. Cardboard? I rubber mounted it to my shackle reversal crossover tube.

I also finally decided on which gauges to get and ordered two of the three for now. I got a lot of work to do before the end of the week to get my truck ready for my desert trip!

I tried several times to use my bypass without success. In warm weather it would overheat the trans. Maybe I just had a bad one?

This. 100x this.

I'm a firm believer in keeping it stupid simple.

I see it (and i could obviously be wrong as this is totally and strictly my opinion) that the bypass, and the blah blah blah is something else to break or malfunction. Transmission too cold? Cover it with cardboard. It can't get simpler and easier than that. I'm sure they have really nice and fancy thermal bypasses but the one that comes with the tru-cooler looks cheap and flimsy and looks like it would restrict the flow of fluid even when it's wide open.

Cool, sounds good. I'll just do the plastic cardboard.
