CLUSTER REDO
I'm in the process of doing a semi rebuild on my truck. I have most of the items I need to complete except for suspension and brakes. When I put the truck up I thought I was okay in those areas. Okay, big laugh everyone!
Now to get back on why I am trying to reach as many as possible, I am presently working on an F600 dash cluster that ultraranger was nice enough to sell to me for a more than reasonable price. I took everything apart and I sprayed the dash with oven cleaner ( the good kind ) and the backing plate that sits between the glass and the gauges.
The results are pretty awesome IMHO. My dash cluster is chrome underneath. The rings which look like the gauge bezels shine real well. The back plate is nice and clean and only needs some fine sand paper or steel wool prep. I'll need to do some steel wool work on the dash face before I repaint once I decide which color to go with. I'll post pics in a little while.
So, I just wanted guys to know those two things... Ultraranger is solid
in my book and easy off is great for rust and paint removal.
Like I said in my redo thread, my camera is Fubar so I usually need to take quite few to get decent shots.
A little aluminum foil and Coca Cola and that chrome will look almost new. I had my son try it on my rims back when I first got the truck and it was amazing. If I had waxed them or maybe shot some clear coat on them they may be in better shape now. But they either need to be blasted and powder coated or I may go cheap until I can afford new ones, and just get them blasted and paint them.
I need to price powder coating. Oops off track... Here's another pic...
WHADDAYA THINK?
