Well I have a 2010 expedition with rear air. It has a leak at the low side port and I've had it in 3 times to have the leak fix. I decided to replace the whole high/low line assembly with a oem one. I had it empty r&r the lines and rechargedo only to have the same low side port leak! What is the problem I Chek the valve and it's seated but the r134 leaks out after about a month. Any ideas??
I too have a 2010 expy.....an Eddie Bauer. My ac also kept dumping charge.
The final solution (after 3 attempts at repair, fortunately not at a dealer) was to replace the rear expansion valve. The evaporate core was replaced on the second visit. The fix has held up. Mine failed in the vehicles 4th year of service. Seems odd but maybe that's how planned obsolescence/failure works.
I'd recommend starting with where the leak is already known to be (assuming that is an accureate assessment)...
Any ideas??
Just because a part is new does not mean it is good. Go back and verify the integrity of the port. If it's leaking from the region of the core itself, evacuate the system and replace the core (they're inexpensive). Recharge and retest to see if the repair was effective.
