Hey guys, I've tinkered around with this issue for awhile but never really dug deep into it intelligence now. The issue I'm having is the fuel pump occasionally (more times in colder weather, or a short drive.) stays running untell I pull the fuse or let the truck idle for 30 minutes or so. I've pulled every relay, swapped relays thinking I had on sticking but no luck.
Has anyone else ran into this problem? If so please share!
Thanks
That relay can't be gotten to with disassembly of the CJB.
One thing to do before disassembly is look up under the dash
to the top where the window glass fram is and see if you see any
rust. If you see rust I would also get the glass removed and
resealed so that any water won't run down onto the CJB and drive
you crazy with problems like this.
Your in luck I posted some photos of a CJB from an 05.
You need some small flat blade screw drivers to unlatch the back
from the front and then it just lifts off. Also if you look at the back
you can see a hump on the back between connectors and that is
right over the relay pair. If I recall one is the fuel pump the other
is part of the starting system.
Not sure which one it is but here are the two relays that you can't normally
replace. Not saying that you can't but it's not easy.
Also the nut that holds the main power cable onto the CJB is staked so it's
very hard to remove and may even damage the bolt some.
As much as I work with electrical and Plc crap for work It never crossed my mind about busting the cjb apart and inspecting it.
When I get off today I'll give an update on what my findings are
