Looking for Long tube headers...
The problem is; the primaries do not protrude far enough from the flange before they make their first bend. If you look at the photo of the speed daddy header, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. The bend of the tube is what is wh0ring the install of the bolts....if thats the way theyre making them nowadays, something changed whether they know it or not. It honestly is unacceptable, no way to even torque the bolt.
I told the customer service representative the exact same thing.
They are sending me a new header, so I guess I'll have an answer in a few days!
I'll keep this updated.
Curious to see how the next header looks, if they're making them like that now....I'm not going to go around touting pacesetters.....
Pacesetter called me back today. They have worked on the problem and shipping me a new header via UPS today.
They are also picking up the old headers free, at no cost to me.
When they arrive I will take pictures of the headers.
Edit...
If these don't work out, I would like to know what long tube headers they are running for a replacement, on a 302.
Headers made it in yesterday.
I took pictures of the new headers. I was disappointed that didn't send new bolts and gaskets...
Also, they only had one section of elongated holes for the driver side...not on both sides of the flange like the previous set and even the new passenger side had both sides elongated. Still confused about that.
Here are the header's with modifications.
You can see the added O2 bung. Also, the #6 tube is still about an 1/8" from the 45° spark plug wire.
I explained to them that the #5 & #6 tubes should be brought out another 1/2 - 1" from the flange...
I will say they treated me right. Although, I would hope they would add to research to those 2 areas.
Also, they didn't expedite shipping. I would have thought they would since the header was a defect.
