turbo pipe issue

Hello everyone. On my 11 ford f 250 SD 6.7, I got in it yesterday and I hear a loud pop. Open the hood and the black pipe that runs from the turbo under the upper radiator hose was sticking straight up. It blew off what I consider to be an intake. What causes this. This is my first diesel so sorry for not knowing actual part names. Any help

Crappy design. There are aftermarket options to remedy this issue. Here is a kit for guys wanting to stay with stock tuning and hardware:

I just installed my intercooler pipe from H&S yesterday, as a preventive measure. Ordered from No Limit, they were the cheapest I could find.

Install is pretty straightforward Scott. The 90* boot is a tight fit which can be a pain sometimes, but install is pretty easy.

Yep, pretty easy. Only need a couple different sized sockets and a couple long extensions will help. The most complicated (or nerve racking) part is cutting off the stock band from the factory boot you have to reuse. I just took it slow with the dremel and the tension from the band eventually popped itself apart.
