Morning,
I have a 2001 F 250 extended cab Lariat 7.3 diesel. I came out one morning and had no power windows, interior lighting, cruise control or power mirrors.
I have removed the dome light, disconnected all switches in both doors, window motors and mirrors.
I have replaced the G.E.M but have not put power back to the system since disconnecting to remove the fuse box and old G.E.M.
I have checked with an Ohm meter and found a direct short in the dome light connection at the roof, the right/passenger side of fuse #4, green power wire in left side power mirror and black/white wire on left side power window control. Any suggestion or information on where the best place to find where these wires all run together or best way to chase this down would be greatly appreciated.
I am new to this forum so please let me know if any further information would be helpful.
I just pulled the light and dome light switch along with all courtesy lights, dome light fixture,cargo/brake light fixture, glove box bulb and fuse box/G.E.M.
Still anything associated with the Light Green/Yellow wire and the Light Blue/Red wire off of the dome light control are going to ground.
The LB/RD wire is power for instrument illumination and the LG/OG wire goes to the courtesy lamps and is grounded when the interior light switch is on. The cruise and power mirrors are on totally separate circuits so that is weird. The power windows and interior lights both get power from the accessory delay relay in the central junction box. A lot of people have mentioned water leaks in that area can cause all sorts of strange problems.

Winner Winner Chicken Fing Dinner! I finally found it. It was the wire they used to pick up power for the canopy when it was installed. It had an inline 10 amp fuse that did not blow and was piggy backed into the light green/yellow wire running to the under hood trouble light tucked into the factory wire protector and wrapped in electrical tape. When they put it in they ran it under the truck and did not secure it at all so I am amazed it lasted this long.
Thank You for you help!.
I removed a post above with two large copy-and-pasted images and a bunch of other stuff. Apologies to the guy who posted it, but it wasn't relevant to this thread anyway.
