Electrical system nightmare!!!! Help!!!

I hav a '93 Ranger 2.3L 4-banger. It has a brand new alternator and battery (replaced less than 3 months ago, both under warranty). After those were replaced I have had no problems. Then suddenly today....Dead. I drove it for about half an hour stopped at my parents place to go inside and get something and came out and it wouldn't start. There were no warning lights and all the guages were at a normal level when I was on the freeway. Try jumping it and my sisters car didn't have enough juice to get the starter going very strongly (she has a 98' prizm). So we push started it. Had the truck going about 20 let go of the clutch and success, the engine was turning but there was still no electrical system, and the throttle had NO response. I would say that it was an ignition problem but the battery was drained in about 4-5 minutes when the car was off! What could it be?

First. disconnect the battery and get it tested and charged. Then hook it back up, but instead of hooking the positive cable to the battery, hook the positive to one end of a test light, and hook the other end of the test light to the battery positive. If the test light glows brightly, you have a drain somewhere(make sure the cab doors are closed). You can pull fuses till the light goes out, or try disconnecting the alternator and see if the light goes out. When it does go out, you have found your problem.
