Hineed a lilhelp. I am having issues with mybox my number is 3c3t-14067-ec found one with same number just last two digits are BG will it work? Thank you.
Another thing I don't know if is related or not yet. Is I've been through the whole engine , it spins over two to three times longer than it should to start.. Had laptop hooked to it and it starts as soon as it syncs.

How long are you waiting from Key On Engine Off to hitting the starter? I changed my start routine to ignore the fake glow plug light and I let it build fuel pressure and buzz injectors, which is longer than the GP light going out. When all is quiet I hit start and it is noticeably quicker to catch right away.
Just an observation from my '07, don't know if it will apply to an '03...
Ok, I tried the delayed starting and no change in starting what so ever. It starts the same hot, cold, doesn't matter. A lil background on truck that I know. I got the truck on a trade, the guy I got it from only had it about two months,, I talked to the guy he got it from and got the whole story, here it goes.. He had problems with the truck shutting off about 20 mph etc etc.. Well I have about 15 grand in receipts from two Ford dealers he carried it to. Heads were replaced, turbo replaced, hpop, branch tube, etc etc. Didn't say it made sense... Anyway kept having same problem, he sold it to other guy I traded and got it... I pulled cab studded,,,deleted, etc etc, went to start it and low pressure pump didn't wanna prime,,,yup,,,lifter bearing had been through pump,,well here we go again pulled cab, pulled engine,, replaced cam, lifters, pushrods, front cover, oil pump, etc etc.. Put everything back together and here we are with the starting issues.. It spins over pretty quickly,, and soon as it syncs it starts,,,here's some other things I've noticed,, it idles smooth as silk, then may idle up and down,, every now and then at a stop it surges and kinda misses,,,I know atleast one circuit in fusebox was bad cuz I had to jump a wire for front running lights to work, wonder if another one is bad for 4wd not working, and if another could be related to starting? Also getting the 683 gpcm code... Sorry for the book ,just wanted to through it all out there....yea I know he got screwed by dealer, but not my problem.. Lol
Oh and power balance test on laptop is good, as far as injectors and all goes... I have a SCT livewire on it, ficm voltage stays about 47.50-48.00. HP oil pressure good also. I'm not sure which way to go next.
Using AE for the power balance test? You may be getting false readings.
Can you post a video of the start from Key On to running?
One thing that may be causing problems is metallic fuzz on the cam and crank
sensors. Pull them out and wipe the tips off while taking note of any fuzz.
The reason I bring this up is that you aid that you had a failed lifter and that
can put a lot of metal fragments into the oil pan. Both sensors work on magnetic
field fluctuations. Variable Reluctance is the one we have for the crank and
I think also for the cam.
If there is any metallic fuzz on the tips then that will make getting a good reading harder for the PCM.
One other things to look at is the harness where it goes to each of the sensors. Look for any
chaffing or sharp bends. Check the pins for green fuzz and clean and add dielectric grease.
Thanks, yes I did have a lifter fail, well it was there when I got the truck,,but cam sensor is new. Crank sensor I hadn't replaced but inside of engine was spotless when I put it back together. I will try to put a video up later.
