This is a daily driver and sees very minimal 4wheeling.
get an axle out of a 76 or newer and you get disc brakes just be sure to get the prop valve and the proper master cylinder

Got the drivers side all rebuilt. Tore apart the passengers side and the axle wouldn't turn. Pulled the diff cover and the spider gears are shot. Guess I'm replacing those now.

not that it does you any good but if this had come about a month ago i would have had a complete spare carrier for you to cannibalize for parts, actually come to think of it i think i know where a dana 44 with open carrier is i might be able to find your parts for dirt cheap...
