Hey, for you crewcab guys you might want to check out the 68 on ebay, the info is a little sketchy, but it looks like a 4x4. and the first c/c I have seen with a step side.
Cool can someone give me 3000 bucks so i can put another in my backyard? Looks like it might be a 2wd you can almost make out an I-beam under the passanger side at the wheel, but hey you never know. The guy even listed it as a 2 door! I had debated the stepside on my crew but thats cutting down on the room in the back after my fuel tank is back there so i decided not to. Who knows mabey I'll find a cherry bed cheap and be able to swap when i get the urge.
I wasn't real sure but it just looked like it sat kinda high, and I thought I could make out a lockout hub on the drivers side. Oh well Minnesota is too far away and in the rust belt. I think I will wait for one closer to home, unless I can find a nice Mercury c/c. I might make the trip North for one of those.
I have watched a couple sweet shortys go in the $3000 range on ebay. Both with 300-6 3 speed and a/c and low original miles. I want one of those and a crew cab. But I want to get my 64 custom ( galaxy) car right first. It is a 223-6 and 3 speed. I have a 289 I want to freshen up with GT-40 P heads, headers and 3 dueces. Behind which I will put a Borg-Warner T 85 over drive. And also a hang on a/c. Right after that, more pickups!! I may throw a $300 paint job on the 68 F-250 but she will remain a chore truck, no life of glamour for that old soldier. Also plan on retiring my longtime friend, the 72 F-250. I have it stored at some friends in Alaska for when I am up there. I told their 14 year old son he could have her when he gets his license. The only thing is he can't sell it. He has to send her to the crusher when he's done. ( long story)
Oh man - this looks like a great project waiting for a Ford Lover. I'd love to, would be a big problem though-just got mine finished (3700 miles since May 14 when left for SuperNats!!)-not sure the spouse would understand. If it was a 67 I might have to drive up to Twin Cities and check it out. Pass for now, but maybe theres a crew cab in my future
