I'm embarrassed to say that I bought some small parts recently and now I realize that I don't know where they are supposed to go. They are small black rubber bands that fit over part of the door latch mechanism. They show as part #9 on the attached photo taken from an LMC catalog. I thought that they were supposed to keep some part of the latch mechanism from making clicking or rattling sounds. But I cannot find a place on my door latch where these pieces might fit without falling off. Any ideas?
If it was a more modern truck I would say they go on the rods for the door lock and maybe the rod from the handle to the latch. They aren't bumpers of some sort?
They go one that on thing that makes a clicking noise when you open the door. LOL
I can't tell you without looking. It is a flat bar type thing that pushes up. In really think it is the lock mechanism that moves when you push in handle forward from the inside. Check the Mid Fifty catalog ornthe shop manual.
