As earlier I was having the problem of cranking my truck after hot humid weather using ac etc . This did not occur in fall winter or early spring .Course I know spring here it gets to 90 degrees .Truck is a 1985 F150 4x4 4.9 duraspark2 (computer gone thank goodness)heated cliffords intake , and the two barrel weber carb with regulator set at 3psi .I installed the redline fuel pump(noticed Clifford sells them with his kits now)and the symptoms of the no start when hot are gone .Seems my gas mileage has increased and when pulling long hills a steady smooth even rpm. Replys as the carb getting hot and boiling fuel from the bowl were taken into consideration. I installed the oil pump switch for safety and added a relay.Sure enough when july gets here the true test will show .Thanks TR
FYI though, you could power an electric aftermarket choke with that. Original uses the alternator for power, but only puts out like 8 volts which aftermarket choke don't use.
I got it off a classic car site, they show the whole hookup, it's really an oil pressure safety switch 12 volt in 12 volt out to the coil of the relay where the contacts switch the fuel pump .On the, safety switch there's ignition and a stater hook up, actually feeds fuel when cranking . I used the air Tex os75. ,carter and a few other brand name has them . Good luck TR
