I just got a 66 with the 352, "G" auto and "17" axle. First I need the warranty plate decoded please: F10yd874175. I've bought the full disc conversion and want to increase the hp on this longblock. Nothing crazy, just more than the 170 @ 4000 rpm the plate says. The truck has the padded dash and side toolbox. I want to try and keep it as original as possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated on how much hp this tranny will handle and the best way to get that from this 352. Thanks
You should have a FE 352 with a CruseOMatic auto tranny built in Dallas.
You need to work on a plan before you start buying. I suggest buying a 73-76 F100 donor with C6 and swapping the complete I-beam set, the power steering with column the tranny, while adding a rv cam to the engine with some headers and get happy.
Them FEs are bulls when it comes to power so a little tweaking will make you smile big.
