Evelyn lives!!

Got her back yesterday afternoon, hubby and I test drove the snot out of her, and I am really pleased to report that I can't tell anything ever happened. No rattles, no shimmies, nothing but the smooth quiet powerful ride I've enjoyed for nearly five years now! The new turbo seems to have fixed the lag I always had at really low speeds, and now I can actually slowly accelerate in first gear! So that's a pleasant surprise!

I have an appointment tomorrow to have her trade in value appraised, but I'm not sure I want to get rid of her now. The warranty issue still bothers me a little, but I'm guessing I can probably buy something somewhere to keep her covered. Engine is covered for two years, not sure about the other parts they replaced.

I was going to post a "victory" pic, but she's filthy from road grime (she went to the shop that way) and the weather here is horrendous. I should have had them wash her for me before I picked her up!

Regardless, other than the bill for the rental car, this hasn't really been that much of an ordeal. I sure am glad it's over (knock on wood) though! Sitting in her again feels like home.

Congratulations!
You are in a good position.
Older truck with a new motor, you can decide what is best for you.
Keep her and enjoy her, or trader her in now, or later.
Have a great day.
Pat

Can't hurt to get her appraised and see where you stand. Have the conversation so you understand in general terms the cost of a new truck. Then you can make a well informed choice.

I had no intentions to trade my 2011. Dealer sent me an email saying that they had a buyer for my 2011 truck. I stopped, chatted. They offered me so much for my old truck, it just had to go. The dealer really wanted to make this deal. The funny thing for me was, after I closed on my 2015, turns out the deal they had to quickly sell my 2011 fell through due to financing issues with the other buyer. Took my dealer several months to sell my old truck. I know that they still made money but the deal took longer to come together for them.

Glad your beast is back on the road!!!

Yeah, I figure it can't hurt to see what they offer. Should be interesting, at least.

One other thing to consider as a trade in. It's probably at it's zenith in value now with a fresh engine warranty.

After what my son went through when his motor was replaced, If my motor popped I would have a new truck the day after the motor was back in. Just my opinion I can't have a hauler I couldn't trust

Nice to hear that you're back whole again, it is kind of amazing how such a big job is done with very little evidence after the fact.

You do have a nice truck but I'd have peeled off those fx4 stickers a long time ago, lol. I've always been bugged by them on my trucks.

Very nice looking truck indeed, glad to hear its fixed. Your truck has my favorite wheels ever offered on a Super Duty.

Is the Ford logo faded on the tailgate? I know some of Ford's coated emblems had issues. The dealer should have given you another one free of charge after this ordeal!

I'm interested to hear what his experiences were. I've never had anything like this happen, and have no idea what (if anything) to expect.
