2001 Ford Ranger

I have a 2001 Ford Ranger and it always seems to think the door is open....so my overhead light stays on forever and the annoying Door Ajar light is on constantly as well. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? Thanks.

2001 Ford Ranger

I had the same problem on my 2001 . The door switch is located
in the door latch. Take some wd 40 and spray inside the latch area. what happened is the switch is gummed and not releasing the spray will free it up. I was told to do that on a ford tech. website and mine has worked ever since.
